cassock and surplice

Since Deacon Patty stipulated "cassock and surplice" for Canon Hunn's consecration as the 10th Bishop of the Diocese of the Rio Grande, I decided to treat myself to a new surplice, not a cotta, but a real surplice. Almy offers seminarian discounts, and their delivery time on their "ready to wear" line is about four days. I ordered online on Saturday, and it was delivered on Wednesday. I purchased my last alb from Whippell & Co. and their stuff is really nice, but their prices are up to four times higher than Almy, and delivery can be up to six weeks. So, just in case anyone is looking to spiffy up their wardrobe . . .

  2. It was Randall .... I don't know why poster name isn't listed. I'll see if I can fix that!

As for the cassock and surplice, I'm just borrowing for now....
And ... I got asked to be a chalice bearer also. Anyone else??

    1. Apparently, they are trying to distribute acolyte, verger, and chalice bearer duties as widely as possible among the parishes of the diocese. Holy Faith has three vergers, so I don't think they'll tap us for anything else.

  3. Oh, on the post title ... we're all listed as "authors" for being able to start new posts. I bet that's why it's not showing there.... 'cause on our replies, our names are there...
